HONEYMOONING IN EUROPE

Well here it is at last my sweets! A glimpse of our honeymoon, or rather, something more like a sequel to a Griswald family European vacation. No but really, we had an amazing time and are grateful we had the opportunity to go.

After a week of being married, Adam and I set out for Italy, where we spent two days in Rome. We decided to take the public bus system to get around instead of paying for the waaay overpriced taxis, and we toured Rome! We took a tour of the colosseum and Palatine hill, which was really neat because we got to learn more about how Rome was started and about the traditions and religious beliefs of the ancient Romans. We also visited the Pantheon, made wishes at the romantic, yet crowded Trevi fountain, and visited the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Needless to say, we walked our feet to the death in the two days we had in Rome, but we had a blast learning about and exploring Rome together! Unfortunately, our camera broke while there and at the moment I do not have the pictures of Rome, but they will eventually be posted.

After fun and frantic Rome, we set off for the more slow-paced, country-folk-filled Switzerland for the rest of the week. We rented a car and stayed in Zurich the first night, then the next two days drove around the beautiful Swiss alps and stayed in a quaint bed and breakfast. The two days we were at the bed and breakfast, we tried to communicate with the workers of the place we were staying at. But to no avail, it was completely useless because we couldn't speak German or French. But then! On the last day, Adam discovered one of the managers was Brazilian, so he was able to put his mad Portuguese skills to use! Kind of ironic, being the last day. :) We also visited Lauterbrunnen Valley in Southern Switzerland, which is supposed to be one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. There, we ran into some guys that were paragliding pros, so we payed for them to take us paragliding! It was incredible! Well, I must admit I was at first pretty terrified of the idea of doing it, but once we were in the air, I was loving every minute! The view was spectacular, and we couldn't have had a better day to do it.

Well, to top off our beautiful week in Switzerland, we got to go to the Swiss temple in Zollikofen, and watch one of my friends from Italy be sealed. We also had the privilege of spending time with my parents...which actually was kind of fun, although we were on our honeymoon. lol. We had a grand time on our honeymoon, and, meanwhile, are trying to adjust to the time change....
